Combination

Combination brows (or “combo brows”) are a hybrid technique that blends two popular PMU methods:

  • Microblading (hair strokes) at the front:
Fine, realistic strokes are added in sparse areas to mimic natural brow hairs.

  • Powder/ombre shading through the body and tail:
Soft shading is layered through the brow to create a gently filled‑in, polished look, with the tail slightly darker for a natural gradient.

Is Combination Right for You?

Ideal Candidates

Combination (combo) brows are ideal if you love a soft, filled‑in makeup look and want your brows to last. It is especially beneficial for:

  • Adults 18+

  • Suitable for most skin types:

    • Normal skin: Holds both hair strokes and shading well.

    • Dry skin: Great for crisp, defined strokes and smooth shading.

    • Oily or combination skin: Shading (powder/ombre) works better than microblading alone, but hair strokes may blur slightly—touch-ups are recommended.

  • Sparse, thin, or uneven brows

  • Want a natural yet polished look

  • Most skin types, including oily or combination

  • Want longer‑lasting results than microblading alone

Who Should Wait or Avoid

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Active skin conditions in the brow area (eczema, psoriasis, acne, infections)

  • Keloid‑prone or poor‑healing skin

  • Very sensitive skin that may react or heal slowly

FAQs

How are combo brows different from microblading?

Microblading uses only hair strokes, which can look very natural but sometimes sparse. Combo brows add soft shading for more fullness, better definition, and longer-lasting results.

How are combo brows different from ombré brows?

Ombré or powder brows use only shading for a soft, makeup look. Combo brows combine hair strokes in the front with shading throughout the brow, giving you both natural texture and added density.

Do combo brows look natural?

Yes. Combo brows are designed to look natural while still giving a fuller effect. The hair strokes in the front mimic real brow hairs, while the soft shading adds subtle density and definition.

How long do combo brows last?

Combination brows typically last 1.5 to 3 years. Longevity depends on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Most clients return for a touch-up every 12 to 18 months to keep the color fresh and shape defined.

How long does the appointment take?

The initial session usually takes 2.5 to 3 hours, including consultation, mapping, numbing, and the procedure.
